Le Marche

Le Marche is one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. Sundrenched beaches, lovely villages, attracting cities and a delightful climate. The perfect destination for your holiday in Italy!

Le Marche is also called the best kept secret of Italy and has everything you would wish for. Le Marche means border or mark in English. This comes from the fact that it is situated in between the mountains and the sea. In Le Marche you will find mountains, beaches, beautiful old cities and lovely villages, but also pristine nature. You might think this is similar to Tuscany, however, Le Marche is much more quiet, spacious and pure. The perfect setting for experiencing and enjoying Italy! No one will be able to resist the specialties of La Mama in Le Marche, the never-ending dinners and the love with which the meals are prepared. Eating with family is of uppermost importance to the Italians. Would it not be great to experience this yourself? Making yourself acquainted with the authentic Italian kitchen, all the delicacies and the other habits? No region is better suited than Le Marche. Le Marche excels in specialties, from meats to truffle and from olive oil to grappa.

Activities

There are ample things to do in the surroundings of the villa. West of Fossombrone you will find the Gola del Furlo, a gorge on the ancient Roman road Via Flaminia, but also the Monte Catria, a mountain that offers great hiking paths in summer and ski pistes in the winter. And, towards the east you will find multiple sundrenched beaches, close to cities such as Fano, Senigallia, and the Monte Conero, including Sirolo and Numana. You can also go for a hike or bike ride directly from the house.
If you prefer cultural activities, you will be pleasantly surprised by the numerous traditional villages, theaters, museums, and festivals. Universities cities such as Urbino (20 min) and Perugia (1.5 h) can easily be reached by car. And Medieval cities, such as Mondavio (20 min), are all around. For wine lovers, you will find many vineyards close to Casa Tavola. Most of them offer (free) wine tastings too, such as Terracruda and Fiorini. Local markets are a great way to discover the local produce. The market in Fossombrone is on Mondays and in Fano on Saturdays.
